Deaf/Hard of Hearing Camp Fund

We are the Boyd Bunch and have come here to ask others to help not just us but multiple families.  See, we are a family of 15, with 14 of us still living at home.  All  our children are adopted & majority have special needs.  When we adopted our son from Russia, we had no idea he would be Deaf.  It changed us immensely.  We became aware of a place called Cued Speech Camp that takes place at Camp Cheerio in Roaring Gap, NC. They welcome ALL forms of hearing children and their families for a weekend.  During this weekend, the families connect with other families of deaf/ HOH children, attend workshops, learn cueing if they'd like, and finally realize there is hope and help out there for them.  In addition, the kids can finally connect with others like them and know they are not alone.  It has been one of the ONLY places all my children feel welcomed.  We have gone every year since my son came home.  First year, we were blessed with a scholarship.  This year has been a changing year for our family with the very unexpected adoptions of two more children.  We also have had many more medical expenses this year which all has in turn left us with nothing extra to attend this camp that has benefited our entire family.  That being said, we would like to raise $1,000 ($920 for camp/ $80 for gas) to attend camp and anything above and beyond raised, will be handed over to spring camp cheerio for them to pass along as a family scholarships to others.  This camp allows families to help their children reach their fullest potential possible.  The life lessons and valuable advice learned stay with you and better equip you as a parent to help your children.  I can not state enough what this camp means to our entire family.  They start counting down to Camp Cheerio in February.  Camp isn't until May.  My son who is deaf, autistic and has FASD lights up when you mention this camp.  It is truly the world for him.  It would truly mean the world to our family if you could help us get to camp this year.  Thank you so much.
