My name is Eden and my family is currently having a very hard time. A friend knows what is going on and suggested this website.
My mom wanted to use this website, but wasn't sure how to go about setting everything up. So I set it up and had her write what is going on so it could be shared on here.
This is what's going on, in my mom's own words:
Our financial problems started in November of 2006 when I injured my back at the job I was working at. The company only gave me workers comp for 2 months and I was unable to go back to work because of my injury.
It took me about a year and a half to get to the point that I could even walk half decent, and I started having really bad panic attacks that I continue to have today.
Then the economy collapsed and my husband's garage business went down hill and we got really backed up in all of our bills.
Our vehicle got repossessed because we were unable to make the payments and that left us with an old truck that needed a lot of work done on it.
In 2011 my husband ended up in the hospital when his heart went out of rhythm and the medicine he was put on caused damage to his digestive organs. We have been unable to pay the medical bills.
Last summer I lost the one job that I was able to handle with my health problems. It was one day a week, but it was at least a little money every 2 weeks. The company eliminated my position along with a number of other employees.
So my husband has continued to work, but all this time we haven't been making enough money to pay our bills let alone all the bills that got backed up. It has continued to get worse because of the companies adding late charges and interest.
My husband is losing the garage he has been renting since 2001 because his landlord decided he wants to use it for storage and he told my husband he has to be out by March 1st.
It's not much time for my husband to find another place and in my area, there are no other garages for rent. So March 1st my husband will be out of work.
We have used vehicles that keep breaking down and we can't afford to buy a newer dependable vehicle.
We went from doing okay financially and trying to help others that needed help, to not even being able to pay our bills. We feel beaten down and defeated and no longer knowing what to do.
I have sold a lot of our personal items to try to get money to make it these past 8 years.
I'm not used to asking other people for help, but I see no other way to get our finances straightened out.
Making the goal would pay off our house, all of our bills and hopefully buy us a new vehicle.
Anyone that can help would truly be appreciated.
