Friends of Morgan Park in memory of Ernie Nance

Ernest W. Nance, known fondly as Ernie, passed away on May 3, 2012, at the age of 77. Ernie was married to Kay for 51 years and was a doting father and grandfather. He loved his dogs, tolerated his cats, made a mean martini, and was, generally, everyone's friend.
For more than 40 years, Ernie worked in the field of Parks and Recreation, in Illinois, Connecticut, Texas, and South Carolina. He won numerous awards, including four National gold medals, for his work.
One of the last projects Ernie worked on was the development of Morgan Park in Georgetown, SC. Morgan Park is comprised of a peninsula and two small islands dividing Winyah Bay and the Sampit River. It's one of Georgetown's lesser known gems. The Friends of Morgan Park are working to transform this historic waterfront area into a first-class, eco-friendly destination. One of Ernie's dreams was to see this happen.
