"GG" Arabian Horse Seizure

Tax deductible
Love this Horse Equine Rescue is a 501(c)(3) horse rescue that is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, retraining/training and rehoming Arabian horses.

On March 25, 2018 the Deschutes County Oregon Sheriff's Department seized over 80 severely neglected horses from Linda Stream, and her daughter, Christina J. Hart in Bend, Oregon. Both women were indicted on 83 counts of second-degree animal neglect to which both women have plead guilty. These 83 horses were the last of Green Gate Arabians and had belonged to Jay W. Stream who was famous in the Arabian horse world and who passed away in January 2006.

Last week, the Deschutes County Oregon Sheriff's Department contacted our horse rescue and asked up to take 12 of the 54 surviving Arabian horses which are the last of the Green Gate Arabians.

After much consideration, we have decided to accept 12 of the seized horses but we MUST secure funding in order to support the horses over the next six months in order to rehabilitate, feed, retrain/train and to adopt the horses into permanent homes. The horses had not been handled for approximately five years prior to the law enforcement seizure. This is why we anticipate that it will take us at least six months to rehabilitate and turn these horses into reliable riding partners.
