Shakthi Om is a movement of love. Created by Hannah Pixie - www.instagram.com/hannahpixiesnow & Guy - www.guyletatooer.com , we are two creatives and tattooers from Europe. After both having owned small businesses separately, & after both having had the opportunity to take a closer look into how 'successful' business often begin to work, how morals are often swept under the table and blind eyes turned where (needlessly) bigger profits are concerned ..
we both decided it was time to pour a little of our spare energy into a different kind of 'business.'
In the past, and under the guise of my old business, Black Stabbath Tattoo, (Hannah typing!) I had released a few different projects specifically for charity. I sold prints, made small zines and held events etc - but always found it hard to focus my energies on any one cause and scattered myself wherever I could lend some time & attention. At this point I should mention in terms of raising the funds, I have my large online following to thank for that, to whom I am eternally grateful for allowing me the opportunity to be a generator of a huge amount of good karma for everyone involved. Over 2/3 years using only my instagram account and very a humble online store, we managed to raise thousands for several different causes. Ranging from mindfulness programmes for the mental health foundation to raising funds & support to save a rescue dogs shelter in Greece - & a few in between !!
I could not believe the power of the people that I had been given the absolute honour of being able to communicate and share a part of myself & life with via the Internet.
What started as a slightly weird and seemingly nonsensical thing to me - suddenly having a fair number of followers on a social media app - has actually turned into something with real life weight, something that can generate real life positive change, not just to feed the ego monster anymore - for the self reassurance or ego boost I no longer feel the need to search for in any number of likes on the Internet, on a heavily filtered selfie. It gets to the point where it's just too exhausting to present anything but truth to the world. & the unedited truth is not always pretty, but it does always bring progress about a lot quicker. When we are all able to see things as they truly are.
Change is inevitable - so we may as well be going forwards, as opposed to back, right?!
This seemingly virtual, weightless number, just like the (I hope) growing total on this go fund me page - actually makes a difference. I've witnessed that positive change first hand. I had the pleasure & honour of being able to donate the funds we raised on numerous occasions. Eventually only opting for the smaller, grass roots charities I encountered that I could vouch for.
Unfortunately we are living in a world where 'government ran' more often than not insights corruption as opposed to fairness & justice. With the smaller organisations, I could see - and was able to share with and show my followers - directly where the money went and how it helped the people/animals/earthlings concerned!
I was and still am regularly amazed by the magical people who share my life somewhat virtually with me and are helping this little love project slowly become a reality.
So the idea behind Shakthi Om was not just to be another merch store.
We intend on selling ethically produced artefacts, inspired by our minute to minute experience of this vibrant world. Designed by ourselves and brought to life by all the friends we meet along the way. Wherever that may be. Always strictly limited pieces and handmade wherever possible. Items of power, for those who seek it. Be it clothes, artworks, jewellery, whatever our flight of fancy of the moment.
We understand that on a molecular everything is energy, and where something comes from and how exactly its been created, is pretty important. So we hustle with love and passion. Always choosing love over fear is our only intention to carry.
The #fashionrevolution has already begun so its time to get on board or get left behind, in a world of consuming, destroying, then rinsing and repeating that we just could not be a part of anymore. Or even waste money/energy on supporting in any way! So we are able to vouch fully for you when it comes to #whomademyclothes. No bad karma harbouring in our threads .
Often vintage / reworked pieces, we intend to continue to try to find any small ways in which we can make this little empire as clean & green as possible to generate maximum good juju. But its baby steps so bear with us on the super small releases and humble beginnings!
Our intention for this first small drop on shatkiom.com, is to donate whatever profit is generated directly to this go fund me page. That way it's easy for anyone interested to see exactly where we are at with our goal!
We intend on doing a few more releases online, I hope monthly, until we leave for Nepal later this year where we will be visiting our first charity of choice directly.

Having helped these guys a little in the past, after the devastation of the earthquake these guys now need more help than ever. Guy and I have every intention finally to meet the lovely young women from the YouTube videos later this year.
We intend to be there Oct/Nov dates TBC. As well as making the donation of whatever we manage to raise before we arrive, we look forward to the opportunity to offer help in person, in whatever other ways possible once there.
The eastern cultures, creeds and belief systems that inspire our art, lives and inner dialogues so heavily; need our help. Its time to pay back to what inspires us the most. Time to push their agendas of love, peace, understanding and acceptance. Giving them exactly that back. Other cultures and ultimately other people are not here for us simply to exploit. As westerners especially, we have been condition to uphold extremely selfish belief systems that lead us to think there is not enough to go around, and so that we must all be in competition with one another, in a bid to get to the top. The top being an often very lonely pinnacle of material success due to the nature of gaining such levels of monetary success being through somewhat unjust and unfair means. Other people, other cultures are simply not for us to use for our own selfish, material gain. Everything in this life is energy, and if you aren't keeping that as a fair exchange, it's a drain where imbalance exists.
The real poor people in this world are those who work to keep expensive, unfulfilling lifestyles and always want more.
