Love for Lauri!- Healing fundraiser

Hello Everyone!

Josh here. Thank you thank you thank you for taking the time to read our story. Ps. thanks also to Emma Dean for starting this for us amidst the hectic hospital saga.

Let me try to make this short, sweet, and informational.

My mom, Lauri Pacheco, has had a mystery problem with her heart and after a year was ordered a mitral valve replacement (changed to repair the day of surgery).

During surgery, a clot was released and then broke up and sprinkled her brain with little frontal bilateral strokes.

She went into a comatose like state after extubation and lost motor function of her left arm and right leg.

Then, 3 days later, after many many prayers, blessings, and tears, I walked in and she said "Josh! You're here!" as if she hadn't scared everyone to death!

It's an incredible relief to know that even through all this, she remains strong and steady in character and continues to laugh and love, maybe even a little more than she used to!

She was sent to Windsor Gardens Rehab a few days later and far too early. After less than stellar care, she was rushed back to the ER and has been in the hospital ever since!

Now her lungs are the problem and the treatment for the fluid building up in her lungs has affected her kidneys. It's a strange and exhausting balancing act, and although she encounters more complications in that regard, she has equally made great strides in PT! Which brings me to why we've set up (and then expanded) this fund for our family.

The money donated here goes towards a number of things:

- Groceries for Me(Josh) and Joey (my brother)

- Parking Fees for multiple daily visits to the hospital (although, we try to stay round the clock)

-Help with travel ie. gas for the car and airfare help for Josh to keep coming back!

-And then the big enchilada: 24/7 at home Nurse Care

Right now, she's staying in the hospital for a bit, but when she goes into rehab, it will be either Burbank Health Care Center or the Acute Rehab Center at Saint Joseph's Hospital.

We really want the ARC because it is a really great, aggressive rehab program, but only lasts at most 7 days! Most likely, she will still need Care Professional with her 24/7.

Please, please donate! As little as you can, or as MUCH as you can. We appreciate every bit. If you can't donate, then please share and hopefully our story reaches someone who can.

Every day is an improvement, but it is an uphill battle an we appreciate the help! Please stay tuned as we update her condition here as well as on our social media platforms. #LoveforLauri
