Rebecca “Becca” Jean Knight died on June 4, 2014 when the raft she was in unexpectedly flipped over, throwing all four occupants into the Cache la Poudre River in Colorado. Becca was hit in the chin with the paddle, knocked unconscious, and drowned. The others made it to safety. She was nine days from her 27th birthday.
Becca loved helping people, caring for animals, cleaning up the environment, was a multi talented athlete, traveled extensively, and lived life to the fullest. She lived more in her twenty six years than most people will ever do. Her beautiful smile and grand hugs were worth waiting for. She left behind so many people from all over the country and parts of the world who are mourning her untimely death, but also celebrating the joy, vitality, and genuine love she expressed. To that end, a scholarship in her memory will be set up for a graduating senior at Malden High School in Malden Massachusetts. She was in the class of 2005.
