On Thursday, February 23rd, 2017 Lisa and her family received news that no family wants to receive. Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic peritoneal cancer.
The oncologist told Lisa and her family that this cancer is very aggressive and that she will be in for the fight of her life.
She was given a very saddening and vicious prognosis of only 1-2 years.
Lisa will need very extensive chemotherapy treatments.
She began the fight with her chemotherapy treatments Monday, February 27th at the General hospital in Ottawa, ON. With all the upcoming treatments Lisa was forced to shut down her home daycare. For those of us who know Lisa know that this daycare was and is her entire heart and soul. She loves her daycare “family” as though they are her own. Each and every child who walks through her door make Lisa smile so bright.
The funds that are raised are to help with the financial burden. The Deon family will use the funds to help with day-to-day bills as well as any extra hospital fees as one income has been completely erased.
This will also provide Lisa's husband, Eric, the opportunity to take more time to be with her during this tough road ahead.
