Bear Lake Camp for Special Kids

The Algonac Lioness Lions Club is raising money to send children, ranging in age from 7 to 16, with visual and hearing impairments, juvenile impairments, muscular dystrophy, autism, and in recent loss of a loved one to enjoy a rewarding experience at Bear Lake Camp.
Bear Lake Camp, located in Lapeer County, has provided a camping program for youth for over 30 years. The program gives its campers opportunities they would not have at traditional children’s camps. Activities include swimming, crafts, archery, boating, fishing, hiking, challenge courses, a unique climbing tower, zip lining, and learning training.
Aside from all the fun, campers learn skills to become independent and work as a team. From wheel-chair bound to having other disabilities, all children can participate to improve self confidence and gain a feeling of accomplishment. In addition, meals, nursing care, and supervision by certified facilitators are provided.
Please consider donating toward our cause to send at least three special children to Bear Lake Camp at a cost of $350 per child, a total of $1,050. If possible, we’d like to send more. No matter the amount of your financial gift every little bit helps. We are a non-profit charitable organization.
