"Team Hickman" also known as Brandon and Suprena Hickman, use their talents to positively impact their community and others around them by "edu-taining" youth, consulting professionals, and planning "outside-the-box" events. A huge part of their lives were interrupted nearly four years ago with the sudden death of Brandon's mother, Lillie Ann Heggins.
Lillie Ann Heggins was a North Carolina educator for over 40 years between Jacksonville and Wilmington. She was very passionate about educating and exposing the youth to endless possibilities. Her passion has been passed on and carried out through her children. This is when the idea of a scholarship fundraiser was born.
The Port City Rip The Runway is a fashion show primarily featuring local DJs, stylists, designers, and clothing stores in a positive and fun environment. The purpose of this event is to raise scholarship money to help offset the costs of college for some students. Nothing was more important to Lillie Ann Heggins than her family and educating the youth. She believed that every student should have an opportunity to go to college and further their education. This event will help keep her mission alive.
This will be our fourth annual event and it continues to grow with each year passing. We had nearly 700 in attendance last year! As we continue to grow, we would love to be able to assist more students financially and this can happen with your assistance.
