About the crash:

Witnesses say it appeared lightning struck Villines' motorcycle or the road near him. It was enough to knock him unconscious and cause a highway crash, according to Villines, who spoke with 9NEWS from the Burn Center at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.
"He just said I stiffened up and veered off the road and crashed," Villines said, "The last thing I remember was going under the overpass at 136th Avenue."
Villines crossed several lanes of traffic at a high speed before crashing on the side of the highway, according to the 31-year-old. Several drivers, including a nurse, pulled over to help.

Why we want to help:

Although Eugene's medical bills and time off work will be covered while he is recovering on convolescent leave some things for his family are not. Impound fees for the motorcycle and legal fees from the accident. His wife Katie has been staying by side in the hospital which has put her out of work during his recovery and only food for Eugene is covered in his hospital bill. The family has also had to pay overnight babysitters for their son as well as well as in home boarding for their animals. Katie needs our support so she can help Eugene get back on his feet as soon as possible.
