Hello, wonderful Family and Friends and Friends-who-are-Family!
Beau and I are in the process of adopting!
We couldn't be more excited/scared/happy/thrilled/nervous/joyful about this.

In order to do this, we need to pay a considerable amount of money. As much as our pride would like us to be able to afford the adoption all on our own, we believe that God is calling us to more through our inability to pay by ourselves. When we have prayed over the adoption process, both of us are moved by the knowledge that our community—our family by love—could actively participate in the growth of the McCarthy Family. So what is normally a very private and very loving moment—the conception of a baby—between two people, will now be a very public and (still) very loving moment between many people for our adopted baby. We think this is the coolest.

We invite you to donate whatever amount you wish. Our entire adoption costs are over $23,000. We are adopting domestically and we are hoping to adopt an infant. As we wait for the baby, we go into this room every morning and pray for our future baby, orphans everywhere, and expectant parents the world over. We pray for Hope and a future and a life lived in Love. We know Jesus is the only way to do all three. And we know Christmas is the time we celebrate His arrival and our adoption into God’s forever family. It is good to be adopted.
