TPN

My son Louie has a life limiting genetic condition called SMARD which means he cannot sit up or walk, he's attached to a ventilator 24 hours a day and on TPN (IV nutrition), he needs around the clock care.


We are currently fundraising for a fridge so we can can travel with Louie as he is on TPN and it has to be kept between 2 and 8 degrees. 

This will enable us to take Louie on day trips and on short holidays. 

TPN is Total Parenteral nutrition (PN) is the feeding of a person intravenously, bypassing the usual process of eating and digestion. The person receives nutritional formulae that contain nutrients such as glucose, salts, amino acids, lipids and added vitamins and dietary minerals and this is steralie procedure and given through a hickman line that is placed in Louie's chest.
