Free Music Education Program

Donation protected
Dear friends,

My name is Julia, and I am a violinist in Boston, MA (USA). I work in local orchestras and perform in concerts, events, and recordings with the New England String Quartet . Together with the quartet, we created this campaign to support a free music education program in Boston area. We welcome kids and adults who may not be able to afford music lessons to learn playing instruments with members of our quartet and collaborating artists.

If you are interested in learning with us, please send us an e-mail at [email redacted], and tell us about your experience with music and learning goals!

Currently, private music instruction in Boston cost between $40-$120 per lesson, and many people don't have an option of learning music due to financial limitations. We hope that with your support we could establish and sustain a program which introduces music to everyone and creates equal opportunities for developing creativity and cultural connections - regardless of income level.

Our program offers a variety of genres and event types, combining the classical repertoire with new academic works, music theory, soundtrack and electronic music production basics, historical performances and lectures. Your donations would also allow to provide free musical instruments and career guidance, and we are excited to offer violin, viola, cello, piano, and chamber music lessons, classical music workshops, public concerts and presentations. As fans and performers of film, game, and contemporary music, we are dedicated to maintaining the programming that includes both classical and modern styles, and we strive to introduce the musical proficiency to our younger audiences through creative self-publishing and music technology as well.

Within this program, $100 would allow to purchase a musical instrument for one student, $500 would cover 6 months of weekly individual lessons, $200-400 would allow for a free public concert by NESQ or guest artists, and $600 would cover a student computer workstation with music notation and production software and equipment for composition and recording. As we are currently reaching out to prospective students and their families, we are so grateful for your support, donations, and advice, and we are looking forward to teaching and performing together.

Thank you very much for your help, and thank you for making this program a reality!

With gratitude,
Julia & NESQ
