Medical Mission Trip to Ethiopia

Hi,
My name is Latoya Beatty and I am a second year medical student at Howard College of Medicine in Washington, DC. I've been selected to attend our International Medicine Interest Group's 2015 Medical Trip to Gondor, Ethiopia. The dates for this trip are from June 9 - June 30, 2015, but those dates are subject to change depending on airline ticket prices. The tentative itinerary will include 2 weeks in Gondar, Ethiopia followed by 1 week in Addis Ababa (I will provide more details of the schedule as recieve them).
Since I have never traveled outside of the United States, my main goals for the trip are to increase my awareness of global health and culture. It has always been my desire to visit the continent of Africa but I never thought it would be possible. In Ethiopia, I want to help as many patients as possible and enhance my clinical skills in preparation for my third year. My specialty of interest is in primary care, specifically general pediatrics. Thus, I hope to gain more practice with pediatric patients during this Ethiopia trip.
