Raise the Roof for American Legion

Sometimes it’s hard to ask for help, especially when you are the one who has helped and protected others.
Recently, members of the Schererville Lions Club met at Schererville’s American Legion Post 485, to
pack items to be sent to our troops overseas. Before they could start, buckets of rain water had to be
dumped and floors had to be mopped.
Legion members have been patching their roof for years and patches are failing. It’s now time for a
complete replacement. You can only patch for so long.
We have found that Veterans have a hard time asking for help. They are used to helping others.
So, the Lions and the Schererville Chamber are stepping up to help raise funds to replace their (our) Legion’s roof.
The replacement cost is substantial. Any financial assistance you can give will be truly appreciated.
