Welcome to Matt and Laurie's GoFundMe. So many of you have asked: " What can I do to help Laurie, Matt and Juno?"  To answer that question, friends have set up this site - so now's your chance to help!  For those of you keeping up with Laurie's progress(http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/laurieallen), you know that Laurie is doing so well that she will be released from the Rehab Hospital April 11th! Laurie continues to exceed goals with ease - that's our Laurie! Now it's time to help her and Matt as they  try to get Laurie back on her feet!

Through the incredible support and dedication of Laurie's friends, she has the chance to participate in some experimental procedures that have shown results that were unheard of just a few years ago. Being so fit and positive minded along with a spinal injury that while serious is also not "complete", Laurie is a great candidate to use her own stem cells to help the healing process. This procedure has helped patients with the same level of injury go from unable to use their hands to having the ability to stand and move with a walker. Being experimental the cost is significant. While reticent to ask for money, Laurie and Matt have decided to set aside their concerns and try to raise enough money to give her at least a chance to use her hands, work again and maybe even race someday. 

Laurie's recovery process will include many steps along the way. At this time, Laurie and Matt are going to need to make adjustments to their home (i.e. remodeling and redesign of doors/rooms), buy medical supplies insurance does not cover and eventually, upgrade exercise equipment!
