Lauren Kiebel's Pink Cancer Piggy Bank

Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer in late February of 2013 at the age of 29. Cancer can never be expected but this truly shocked her and her family since there were no signs of it in her family and also at such a young age. It has been genetically tested and cleared so the mystery behind the large growing tumor will remain. She has taken advantage of this unfortunate challenge and made light of it the only way she knows how, by inspiring others.


Lauren will undergo 20 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by a lumpectomy, and then for 6 weeks she will go to radiation 5 days a week. Due to finding out she has breast cancer, just one week after starting a new job, the medical bills started accumulating too fast. After going through treatments like what Lauren has to go through, it seems as though you can start to put a price on life. To give you an idea, just one shot that she has to get the day following her first rounds of chemo, costs $10,000, she will get this shot 4 times. She is grateful that she had the ability to be insured by Cobra, but that too is a substantial cost that her family is generously helping her out with.


Words can't describe how wonderful and spirited Lauren is, especially going through this new turn of events. She has inspired so many in her fight to survive. As her friend, I hope you will be able help her out.
