Sutton's Hospital Toy Drive

This is the 5th year for Sutton's Children's Hospital Toy Drive for Sacred Heart Children's Hospital!  Every year has gotten better which means we have been able to help even more kids suffering from illnesses that force them to spend time at Children's Hospital.  So once again I am getting an earlier start and asking you to consider donating during this upcoming holiday season in honor of our son Sutton. I know there are many wonderful organizations and causes out there that are reaching out to you and it is incredibly hard to choose. All I can do is ask you to think of the surroundings you are in as you read this, think about where your kids are right now and what they are doing. That can change in an instant. There are many children and families suffering in Sacred Heart Children's Hospital right now. I can't 'fix' those children. I can't pay their medical bills or possibly their mortgage in order for them to have gas money to make the many hospital trips to see their children. I can't give them answers about when their child will heal or even if they will have more good days than bad.

Every single day a child spends in a hospital is tough and beyond comprehension at times, but it seems the holiday season is the toughest. If you have read my blog Laughter Through Tears, you know the hospital not only needs donations to support kids year-round, they also create a 'Santa Store' in December. The Santa Store gives child patients an opportunity to 'buy' their siblings something for Christmas. Not only is it a chance to get out of a hospital room, but imagine going to your own private toy store!

With each year we are hoping to reach more people with our request in order to help as many children and families as possible. In order to accomplish this I am asking you to not only consider donating again this year, but please pass on the word to family, friends and neighbors.
 
We will definitely be accepting toys at our home and I will be updating my blog on wonderful locations where you can drop toys off at your convenience over the next few months.  However, many of you have shared that because of location or commitments you haven't had a chance to 'shop and drop'.  That's why we have created this GoFund account!  I want to make donating as easy and convenient as possible.  My family and I will use the money raised to shop til we drop just days before our visit December 18th!
