Bringing Laron and Kristy Together

Donation protected

To find true love and, yet, be so far away from each other.

Kristy, a disabled veteran who served in the US Navy, is a landscape technician living in Virginia. Laron, who once worked as an I.T. specialist in Australia, returned to his home in New Zealand to help others through holistic healing and metaphysical based teaching.

For the past year their physical separation has been a challenge that most would give up on, but their love stays strong. They are determined to be together. Each has gone through a series of recent circumstances—including both of them loosing their life savings before they met—that has lead them to look for financial help.

Kristy and Laron in Virginia, USA (March, 2015)

(Updated in January, 2017) Immigration from New Zealand to the United States has limited options. The most realistic choice was for them to apply for a US fiance based visa so that they can be together.

As of the 19th of January 2017, Laron is visiting Kristy and is half way through a 3 month waiver (tourist) visa. Yesterday, after consulting with their attorney, a new option has come up which will allow Laron to stay long term, based on applying for a marriage visa without leaving the country. Laron and Kristy looked into this option because Kristy recently found out she has to have back surgery and they both wanted to be together during this time.

The amount needed has increased by $50 as a result of this and is explianed below.

$1,770 marriage visa including biometrics
$560 medical exam + vaccinations and tests
$2, 250 attorney fee for handling the marriage visa.
$30 marriage application
$20 Passport photos for visa application
$370 for the 8% fee GoFundMe will take off the total raised

As of the 18th of January, enough has been raised to pay for the visa application processing fee ($1,770) and the first payment to the attorney (50% of the fee), but the rest is required to be raised within 3 months time. The medical exam needs to take place by the interview with immigration, which will be about 3-4 months from mid January, and 3 final payments are required for the remainder of the attorney's fee(50%), over a period of 3 months (33.3% a month).
(end of January update)

Any help would be greatly appreciated and used solely for these costs above so that Kristy and Laron can finally be together.

If the target is met, then any additional money will go towards a marriage ceremony and/or a honeymoon.

Thank you for all that you can do to help them achieve this goal.

Sometimes you just have a feeling that you’ve found the right one—when falling in love—and you will do anything to achieve the goal of being with them, even if that means making large sacrifices and crossing vast bodies of water.

For at least three years I have been living simply, based on choices around lifestyle and pursuing what I felt was important to me. Helping others and seeing them succeed is what I enjoy doing, which I have put a lot of time and effort into.

Kristy and I have spent about four months together (in person) already, as I have flown to the US and she has made the long trip here to NZ, so all the costs involved do mount up and I would never have thought I would be asking for help, but here I am as this is very important and means a great deal to me.

It’s now been about six months since I last saw her; being apart has been challenging. I miss her very much.

That moment when everything just seems right and the entire world finally makes sense; that is how I felt when I met Laron. I just knew that finally after 36 years of my life I found the one person that no matter what, I could not see myself without.

This is the man I want to marry; this is the man I want to have a family with; this is the man I want to grow old with. I have never been more compatible with any other person in my life.

Even my family loves him and those are feelings they don't throw around lightly. He was here for the birth of my first niece and even from the very moment he held her in his arms they had a connection; and it was that moment that I truly saw the man who will be my husband and a father himself.

My heart flutters whenever we are near each other and each kiss is like the first. Any help that can be given to assist us to be together, and allow me to finally be able to fall asleep on his chest while listening to his heartbeat every night for the rest of our lives, would mean more than every star in the sky to me.
