Chris' Opportunity of A Lifetime

I am Christopher Langguth, a Rootstown Local School District 8th grader. I have been selected as a member of the Ohio All-Star Wrestling Team based on my athletic, academic and civic achievements.

I have had many successes in my wrestling career already, including winning the Portage Trail Conference  Jr. High championships as a 7th grader, being Rootstown’s first 7th grader to place at the OAC Jr. High State Championships and placing 5th at the Tournament of Champions, a national Jr. High tournament, as a 7th grader.  I am already working hard again this year to continue my success.

As a member of the Ohio All-Star Wrestling team, I will represent Northeast Ohio on a 7 week wrestling tour during the summer of 2015. The team is scheduled to compete against all-star teams from California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Idaho and Utah. In addition to wrestling, we will also get to visit several locations, including the Olympic Training Center. This truly is the opportunity of a lifetime.

This will mark the 34th Anniversary of the Ohio All-Star Wrestling team. Since its beginning, more than 500 of the top wrestlers from Ohio and the East Coast have represented the team, and I am honored to join this roster.

To make this trip a reality, each wrestler must raise $5,000. This money goes toward travel, lodging, coaching, equipment and other necessities. I am reaching out to friends, family, local businesses and other community leaders for their help in sponsoring my portion of this once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I ask you to please make a donation to help me participate. I would be extremely grateful for any amount you are able to contribute. As an affiliate organization of the Amateur Athletic Union (a 501(c)3 organization), all contributions are tax deductible. 

I believe this summer's experience will result in improvements in both my wrestling skills and in my ability to face top-notch competition in pressure situations. I also feel that like wrestling, this tour will make me a more mature, confident, hard-working and responsible young man.

I look forward to facing the best wrestlers in the country. I also look forward to representing Rootstown, our Rover Family, and Northeast Ohio to the best of my abilities.
