Hello and welcome to my page. I'm Marianne DeFazio and I need help. I have been living with my illness since 2008, which caused me to have a catastrophic outcome in May of 2011
In May of 2011 I was rushed to the hospital because my esophagus burst causing my stomach to "die" I had been vomiting since the beginning of 2008, with each month getting worse. I can never forget the date when my life was taken over by my illness.
It was December 26,2010 . I had been at my sister's house to celebrate Christmas and I felt fine. This was the "normal" I had been living with for months. They called my illness" cyclic vomiting syndrome" or stomach migraines. I had been researching my symptoms for months and trying to figure out how to live with my illness. I was sentenced to a life of vomiting. There was no cure and very few options to elevate the symptoms. While I was sentenced to this life of being well one day and wake-up the next day to start violently vomiting and I do mean"violent". It was horrible. The strange thing was, while I was vomiting all the time I was gaining weight. I blew up to 180lbs.
.By that fateful day in December of 2010, until May of 2011 ,I was in the hospital more then I was home. I felt so alone because I was being treated like I was making myself sick. I knew I didn't,but a lot of people thought the same. They had done test after test, with them all showing up negative.
It is now Easter of 2015 and I'm no closer to being"put back together"then I was when I awoke from my coma in July of 2011. You can see my day to day on the caring bridge. Just put in my name. It will ask for a password. You can use any password you choose.
