B & B Conference Delegates 2017 /8

This crowdfund is to pay the costs to Blackley and Broughton of sending constituency party delegates to national conference in 2017 and 2018. The CLP is now in very bad financial shape after spending 1300 pounds.

Across the UK, constituency parties are currently telling their local members that less than the full number of delegates will be able to attend conference this year due to the costs of doing so. This reduces democratic participation in the Labour party by the members, especially new members who are known to  support Jeremy Corbyn.

There has been much consternation at the cost of sending delegates to conference this year at our constituency and it therefore makes sense to get our house in order to cover the  costs and have ready funds for next year's expenses. In the event this money isnt found Blackley and Broughton will need to send less than a full delegation to national conference sometime soon.

Blackley and broughton endorsed Jeremy Corbyn for leader by at about 80% (+-5%) in the 2016 leadership election and Blackley and Broughton democratisation activists, including the author of this crowdfund, were critical actors in the reversal of the NEC decision to unlawfully deny access to approximately 65 delegates in September 2017, including approximately seven CLPs which would otherwise not have had respresentation at conference.

All funds will go to Blackley and Broughton CLP with the proviso that they only be spent on conference delegations.
