Morristown Band: Support Our Music!

Hello and thanks for visiting our site! Our small, close community of Morristown has a competitive school band program that gives our great students the opportunity to learn the discipline, camaraderie, and satisfaction of the musical arts - while having a great time. We have concert bands, marching band, jazz band, pep band, and a winter guard, with many of the students performing in two or more of these and playing multiple instruments. The High School programs include almost 40 students, and the Junior High programs include almost 70 (almost half of them 6th graders!).

This year we are stepping up our game even more. We are proud to be marching in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington DC this year - the only band from Indiana to do so. We will be spending 4 days in DC, and we need to raise money to cover miscellaneous expenses (food, drinks, etc.) as well as items needed to proudly represent Morristown and Indiana (jackets for the students, a banner to carry in the band).
These expenses are on top of the day-to-day expenses typical of band programs, for instance, instrument repairs and the purchase of new instruments, (we have a bass drum that is in desperate need of replacement) the licensing of sheet music, and cleaning the uniforms.

Our students and parents work hard to raise money for each season, and this year is no different - but with the trip to DC and our efforts to expand our band programs, we need your help! Your donations will go towards:
* Funding our trip to Washington DC
* Repairing or replacing instruments
* Purchasing equipment and uniforms for the marching band and winter guard
* Feeding all those band students at competitions
* Other day-to-day expenses
We need to keep the arts alive - we have seen the positive impacts these band programs have had on the students, and we need to continue to provide them the opportunity to excel.
