My name is Victoria and I’m a recent graduate with a B.A. in Archaeology. While waiting to hear back from graduate schools, I am looking to my summer plans at the Huqoq archaeological excavation in Israel. I really need your help to make this happen!
Huqoq is an ancient Jewish village in Galilee. Last year I participated in the dig and aided in the excavation of the Late Roman - Byzantine synagogue. Besides honing my skills in the field, by attending this year I will have the opportunity to become a square supervisor. As a square supervisor I will help teach new students while documenting the activities in my square. This will be great experience that I will carry into my continuing education and eventual career.
$3,825 is the amount I’ll need for my airfare, room, and board. Room and board for 31 days (the duration of the dig) is $2,325 and is due to the excavation director by March 31st. A round-trip ticket to Israel can cost anywhere from $1,300 to $1,800. For the purposes of the campaign, I’ve estimated that I’ll need $1,500 for my flights.
