Gene Campbell Sports Foundation Main Objectives:
To provide assistance to kids who want to participate in sports and do not have the means to do so AND
To educate kids and adults on the value of sports on and off the field and in all aspects of life.
How will the foundation meet those objectives?
There is always that one kid that has the will, the drive or the heart to play, but is in an unfortunate situation, and the parent(s) don’t have the financial means to put them in organized sports. This is one of the reasons we started The Gene Campbell Sports Foundation.
Any participating League or baseball organization will be able to apply on behalf of a deserving child requiring financial assistance for the registration fees. Each year, the foundation will have a fund set aside to utilize for this type of assistance. If the parent(s) meet the criteria, then The Gene Campbell Sports Foundation will cover the registration costs. Participating leagues and baseball organizations will also have the opportunity to apply for grants based on donations generated by their organization. These grants can be used for any deserving child in that organization without submitting a separate application, as the recipient would be solely up to the organization’s discretion.
We will also run low-cost camps and educations classes that will align with our mission statement and motto for both youth and adults including players, coaches, umpires, parents, league reps, and directors.
Our mission is simple. To provide the youth and adults, regardless of race, color, or creed, the opportunity to participate in a controlled, safe athletic and competitive environment and to instill the practice of fair play, good conduct and proper sportsmanship. Promote common interest and tolerance among youths; to encourage adults to conduct themselves in an exemplary manner when supervising youths; and to keep the welfare of youths first and foremost and free from any adult's compulsion for power or glory. To always keep sports honest and fun and to always put the kids first.
