Cancer is not a word any parent likes to think about, but this dirty disease has recently been on a lot of our minds. As many of you may or may not know, sweet Connor Hennessy, 2 year old son of Patrick and Susanne Hennessy has been diagnosed with ALL Type B Leukemia. They are such a strong family, but they have a long road ahead of them. Connor will be undergoing chemotherapy treatments and receiving the best of care from Hackensack Medical Center where they are currently staying. It is an incredibly heart-wrenching experience to have to watch your child go through any pain, much less being told they will have to battle the big C.
Susanne, Patrick and their children have touched so many of our lives with their kindness and friendship. They are extended family through friendship. They are the type of people that will always go above and beyond to help you and to put you before their own needs. Well folks, it's our time to repay that 10 times over.
Connor is one of the sweetest kids you could ever meet. He is never without that smile that brightens any room he walks into. His sisters, Ava and Gianna and brother Patrick adore him and care for him deeply. His parents, Susanne and Patrick, both work endlessly to raise their beautiful family. To all of us who call them friends, it is a true pleasure and honor to have them in our lives. Patrick works three jobs to support his family and to live in his hometown of Emerson, NJ. Never a complaint, only that he wants to give his wife and kids the best life possible. These six people define the meaning of words like "love", "friendship", and "family". Personally, I am a better person for knowing them and you will be a better person for helping them through this tough time.
I know many people have been asking how they can help. Staying in the hospital for such a long time is not only emotionally exhausting but also financially draining. Patrick will also be taking leave from work to help care for his son and aid his family. Any donations towards little Connor’s care and any expenses they may need help with along the way would be greatly appreciated. We ask that you please do not try to contact Patrick or Susanne directly as they would like their privacy and space to face the task at hand.
