Worthy Village Volunteer Trip

Donation protected
I am writing to tell you about Worthy Village, a nonprofit organization (pending IRS 501c3 approval) which I have become involved in, and extraordinarily passionate about. I wanted to explain my participation within this organization and ask for your support.

Worthy Village is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing impoverished women and children of Guatemala with a better quality of life. We do this through education and entrepreneurship. Worthy Village works with a group of 40 women who gather together on a daily basis to hand-craft beautiful products including bags, sandals, scarves, etc. With little to no economic opportunity in or near the village, these talented women were left in poverty.

Worthy Village acts as an intermediary between the artists and consumers. We've created economic opportunity for these women by importing the products to the U.S. for retail sales here online at www.worthyvillage.org. All profits are sent back to the Worthy Women of Guatemala. This way, they are able to live the lives that they deserve.

Worthy Village has also implemented the Worthy Village Healthcare Initiative in the village of San Juan la Laguna. We educate all of the women and their children on basic healthcare, hygiene, and provide them with toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Worthy Village has also made an assessment of the education level for children in the village and will be implementing an after school program in January of 2016. Here, the children can come for tutoring, homework help and extracurricular activities.

Worthy Village also works in different villages teaching seminars on health, business and opportunity. They also supply hygiene products to villages and orphanages throughout the country.

I will be traveling to Guatemala this year with Worthy Village in June during Summer Break to do this philanthropic work. I will be teaching in villages, doing work in orphanages and striving to leave a positive impact on Guatemala.

Our goals are set high, but they will continue to be attained through hard work and dedication. With the help of supporters and volunteers, we will make a noticeable difference in the lives of many. Not only do these experiences transform lives, they develop the kind of talent and perception that is essential to leadership in such an increasingly complicated and challenging world.

I can’t do this alone, which is why I ask for your support through donation. The cost of my trip is $1500 and anything you can give will make a huge difference.  Thank you for your time and consideration, as it is truly appreciated.
