Knocking Out Lyme Disease
For many of you that know not only Marcy, but the entire Stone Family, you know that they are probably 5 of the most selfless people on earth. They dedicate their lives to making sure others are taken care of. There is never a time that you encounter one of them, and the first words from their mouths are not 'How are you?', 'How is your family?' - these are not just words, but words said with true meaning without any regard for what THEY are going through; what is happening in THEIR lives...they take others first! That has always been their mission: to take care of others.
Well, in August, Marcy began a quest of her very own. After many years of some rather mysterious illnesses and symptoms, Marcy began to experience uncontrollable pain, headaches and speech issues, among other things. She had trips to the emergency room, appointments with family doctors and many specialists, all which ended at dead ends. They even went so far as to send her to an Oncologist, assuming it must be cancer. When all tests came back clear, they were again back to square one, trying to find out what could possibly be causing her such excruciating pain and unique, unexplainable symptoms. Finally, they decided to test for Chronic Lyme Disease; an extremely controversial disease that most insurance companies will not cover the cost of, and many medical professionals will not support due to lack of reimbursement from the insurance industry. As expected, Marcy was officially diagnosed in November by the only doctors willing to take her case, located in both Sumner, Iowa and Missouri. Because of this, her immediate family needs to be tested, and to date, Addie has been diagnosed as well. They are anxiously awaiting the results of Doug, Matt and Camden.
Anyone who has encountered Marcy, Doug, or anyone in their family can honestly say that it is not just an encounter, but an honor. It is an HONOR to call them an acquaintance; it is an HONOR to be able to call them friend; and we consider it an HONOR for us to be able to come forward and support this wonderful family. We hope you will feel the same!
Please join us in our quest to lighten the financial burden that will remain with them. Any amount you can give is so much appreciated. We consider it an honor to be able to host this fundraiser for this incredible family! If you cannot join us in the festivities on February 21, please make a contribution to this very worthy cause. There is no amount that is too large or to small. Every dollar counts.
