Hello!
My name is Krys Janae. I'm 29 years old, from Central California. My campaign is here because "starving artist" lifestyle is not a figure of speech or a myth... it's actually pretty real.
Two years ago, my fiance and I were victims of a house fire that forced us to move out of our home. After months of bouncing around with [our generous] family and friends, we moved into an apartment. In that time we lost a lot of our belongings and even had to quit school because of multiple factors going against us. We have since gotten back on our feet, but that hardship set us backwards. It left us without any sort of savings and we are living paycheck to paycheck to make ends meet.
I'm currently working a couple of exhausting day jobs. My true passion, however, is in the arts. I'm an actress, singer and writer, on top of other things to keep me busy. When you work full time, it becomes difficult to focus on such outlets, but I'm looking to change that.
I've recently started work with my setup for original music. That also turned into a venture into voice over work for games and eventually I'd love to get into commercials. I have also been working to get into more film/tv work. On top of that, I am the lyricist and singer of the band "Spirit Descending", and we are working on getting our music known worldwide. The most recent cherry on top was my debut into the writing world. I've always wanted to be a writer, and I finished my book in December 2014, which is now in editing.
These accomplishments do take a lot of time. I created this campaign in hopes to raise funds to support my passion for the arts, and make the time to dive into more music and written creations with the ability to support myself.
Any donations toward this campaign will help me out tremendously. I'm hoping to save up to put money aside and make it to things like auditions throughout California, create video content of my own and pay for equipment to make that happen. Contributions will also go towards my books and music.
This is a no-limit campaign ... Anything, especially sharing this, will help. :)
