Hi and thank you for your interest in wanting to know more about my story and what I am doing for adult amateur and recreational players who love the game of basketball.
My name is Jamar and I'm the Chief Commissioner of the Community Basketball Leagues.
What is the CBL Exposure League?
Seven years ago I embarked on a journey to usher in a new vision and era for the recreational basketball market. It’s called the Community Basketball Leagues (CBL).
Why? Because there simply wasn’t any organized programs on a national scale for post high school or college players (adult men and women) who still wanted to continue playing in a highly organized and competitive league and continue with their development and seek out opportunities. I added a life skills mentoring program because I wanted our players to get a better understanding of all aspects of life outside of basketball so we could assist in producing community assets and not liabilities off the court.
As a former high school, college, and professional basketball player, who never made it to the NBA I might add, I had a passion and vision to build a basketball organization that serves more than just players. What I envisioned was a basketball league that would also have a positive impact within communities.
The CBL Exposure League is often called a basketball league, but in fact, what I have created is more of a platform that is designed to assist with the development of talent, launch careers, and provide economic opportunities for individuals and businesses that participate in our league.
We have already helped several players and coaches/executives with getting college and professional, and businesses with promotion and branding asopportunities.
Why your help is so important!
It's because the CBL is MORE than just basketball.
What we are doing is about improving people so we can improve our communities and our world. Basketball is the fun, exciting, and competitive component of what we do.
In fact, the basketball part of what we do is our least concern when it comes to the long-term development of a human being.
For the past seven years I have poured every fiber of my being, my soul, and my commitment into my dream and vision of the CBL. I have made sacrifices on many levels, endured set-back after set-back, and I have proved many of my nay-sayers who said that the CBL would never work wrong!
I’m not telling you this because I’m looking for a pat on the back. I'm telling you this because I want you to know that I am committed to what I’m doing. This is not a hobby for me and I’m not a wanna-be-prenuer by any means… This is my passion and life’s work!

Your support will give us the ability to do even more in communities around the country because it’s so much easier to mentor and guide people to do the right things in life when you already have their attention, and we have a lot players attention right now!
So here’s how you can help
To help keep the cost affordable for our players and teams we created a ticket credit program called team awards.
The ticket credits that teams receive helps to pay for their uniforms, travel, and other expenses associated with playing our league.
When you purchase one of our ticket credit packages below we will send a link to the page below that will give you the option to select which city you would like to apply your ticket credits to.
If there are multiple teams in one city you will have the option to select a specific team. If not, your ticket credit purchase will be applied to the CBL Location that you select.
We will also put you on the league’s email list so you can get the team roster, game schedule, and location information so you can go and support the teams and players in person!

Our crowdfund is not only for individuals. Businesses who would like to advertise with our teams in cities across the country are welcome to participate too!
We will honor our team sponsorship packages at the same price points here on our crowdfund page and you can see how your gift is helping us accomplish our financial goal.
Jamar, why such a lofty financial goal?
There are three reasons for our financial goal.
The first reason is I simply want to be able to serve more participants. We have players registered and teams forming in city's all across the country.
The second reason is because we still have some key business operations functions that we need to do.
The third and last reason is because I am hoping to garner the support of $5 bucks (one ticket credit purchase) or more from every person that visits our crowdfund page.
The last of the three reasons is actually our real goal, not the amount that we have set .
I think it's just easier if we ask each visitor to do a $5.00 donation as opposed to three or four people donating $1,000.00+, but if it's in your heart to do more than $5 bucks we welcome and appreciate that too!
This is what we will be able to do "when" we hit our crowdfunding financial goal:
- Launch a national advertising campaign.
- Register over 1 million players nationwide.
- Eliminate player registration fee if we reach $100K.
- Have 15 televised games (already contracted).
- Launch our CBL GameTime Internet TV Show.
- Have top educators, mentors, and speakers.
- Meet with national brands to sponsor the CBL.
- Enhance our operational tools for GMs, coaches, players, and fans which will help to create a better league experience.
In closing, Facebook likes and Twitter retweets are appreciated, but "donations" is what we really need...
To all prospective and/or current players, general managers, and team owners; we ask that you support our crowdfund first and foremost because if you don’t support this effort why should someone else???
Second, It is my sincerest hope that you (non-CBL participants), who like basketball or would like to provide a great opportunity for players in your community, will support us as well so we can serve, influence, and mentor (through our program) those 20,000+ players that have come to the CBL’s doorstep seeking our league’s help, guidance, and experience.
The movement has begun! But I need your help to see it through the rest of the way.
