The Live Your Dream Foundation was founded by Greg & Linda Dickman in honor of our son James "Jamie" Dickman who was tragically killed in the line of duty on January 26, 2014, while fighting an apartment fire.
Our Mission is to provide scholarships for Firefighting, EMT, Paramedics and Music. Provide a better environment for the firefighters while on duty. Educate the public not only on the life of a firefighter but also the impact of arson not only to the firefighters but also to the community.
Scholarships
Our goal is to give out scholarships yearly for Firefighting, EMT, Paramedics and Music. Music because Jamie had several guitars that he loved playing.
He was on the praise and worship team at his church and played in bands.
Educate the Public on the Life of a Firefighter
There are several aspects in the life of a firefighter that the public have no idea about. The expenses, family and health issues, the working and living conditions that is not in a normal job.
Stuff the Trucks
To make sure there are stuffed animals in every truck . So when there is a child involved in a car accident, house fire, whatever the reason, if there is a child involved they will be given a stuffed animal. It will not only to help calm the child but also there will be a tag on the animal that will give the child a website to go to. On the website they will learn about not only fire safety but personal safety.
