Judd had his amputation surgery in early July and is doing fantastic and having the time of his life, getting around like any 4 legged puppy. His original rescuer was unable to keep him but we were able to find a wonderful forever home for him and he is just thriving. He has a 1 year old Bassett Hound sister named Belle to show him the ropes and he even gets to go to work with mom every day. He even got a new name, Merlin. Thanks to everyone who helped and followed his story to its very happy ending.

Update on Judd - After a few little bumps in the road, Judd is set to have his surgery! He had to find another forever home, so he was a guest at my house for a couple of days. What a wonderful little dog he is. He really does not let the hard knocks in life change his outlook. He was just happy to be treated like everyone else. Yesterday I took him to his new home and everything just "clicked". The family that adopted him is very experienced with both bassett hounds (they have a 1 year old girl) and special needs pets. We didn't even have a sad goodbye, Judd was off and playing with his new bassett sister already. Thanks to everyone who helped Judd get on his way to a new life. You made all the difference to this little one.

Judd had xrays done yesterday. They showed that he has no bone whatsoever between his elbow and his carpus. His scapula is intact, which is good. When the surgery is done, they will take a portion of the scapula in order to make a more comfortable wound closure. We are not to our goal but are going to proceed with the surgery and continue fund raising. Please consider donating if you can and if you can't or already have, thank you and please share this posting. We will get there.

This little puppy named Judd, was saved from being euthanized by a breeder simply because it was born with a malformed front leg. A vet has examined him and determined that the leg will become much more of a problem as the puppy grows and needs to be amputated as soon as possible. Judd has a loving home now but they are not able to pay to have the surgery done and came to us at the Daisy Mae Foundation for help. Our bank account is near empty but we are determined to get this little one the help he needs. We have found a vet that will do the surgery, neuter and shot at a very discounted rate, we just need to get the balance. Times are tough and the economy is rough on all of us but if you can, please donate. Even $5 adds up if this gets to enough people. If you can't donate, please share this message to get the word out. To find out more about what we do, please visit us at http://www.daisymaefoundation.org/ . Thanks to all.
