Kosmic Kittens is a grass roots animal rescue and adoption effort in the Selma-Smithfield area helping homeless cats find a safe place to call home.
Founded by Jason Miller and co-run with Susanne Poté of Pounce Cat Lounge in 2017, our mission is to facilitate the care and adoption of homeless cats and save them from a life of disease, starvation and abuse, often encountered when living on the streets.
When Jason took on his first rescue several years ago, he had no idea it would be the birth of his passion for helping homeless animals. Since then, Jason has rescued dozens of cats (and one dog) and helped them find safe and happy homes. Now he has teemed up with Pounce Cat Lounge owner Susanne Poté to take it to the next level.
With other examples in the Seatle, Charleston, and one hoping to starting in Raleigh, Cat Lounges and Cafés facilitate socialization and adoption efforts by providing a public interaction point.
Pounce (Started in May of 2017) currently has a cat bar where you can sit and drink coffee (made onsite) and interact with rescues as well as cat condos being built to house cats and kittens up for adoption.
But there is still a need for cat furniture, transition cages, and seating for the interaction lounge as well as much needed food and supplies. There are also large costs like medical care and spay and neuturing that quickly add up and Jason is paying out of pocket for.

(Stella (adopted) was rescued outside Simple Twist in Clayton Nc. Scared, dirty and covered in fleas, she was barely old enough to walk, let alone be on her own.)
(Stop Teenage pregnacy! Spay and Neuture! Mama Elsa and her four babies were rescued from Goldsboro, NC in an emergency case. Elsa was a stray that wandered in and needed a safe place to have her babies. Unable to find homes and every shelter at capacity, their human mom was living in one room with seven cats and faced eviction. At about six weeks, the family has been vetted and are living safe and happy at Pounce until they are old enough to find forever homes.)
These are just a few examples of how Jason and Susanne are already helping furbabies avoid life on the streets or a death sentence in the pound.
But we can't do it alone.

Even now there are babies in our inbox we can't afford or accomodate. Right now we are turning away people who want an alternative to surrendering.
Your donations will allow us, not only to better accomodate more on site, get the propper medical care, testing and vaccines, and buy much needed food and supplies...but also to go beyond our four walls to help as many furbabies as we can!!!
Things like...
• Building a network of volunteers and foster homes
• Creating a website
• Education and training
• Advertising and promoting rescues for adoption
• Investing in a bigger facility
