FMDS is a non-profit faith based organization. We currently have 19 young girls in the organization between the ages of 8 and 21. The organization was formed to educate and engage youth in spiritual, healthy and nutritionally educational programs, incorporating farming, and entrepreneurial training.
Founder Tammy Jo Burnell is producing the next generation, teaching the young girls about farming and life skills to enhance their lives. FMDS provides hands-on educational experiences such as learning to farm, canning, sewing, soap making, and etiquette. The young girls will begin to understand and accept nature and its qualities so that they may always, under all circumstances and whatever the need be, be self-sufficient. The one central mission is to promote character, health, and income from the ground up. Teaching our youth where there food comes from and how to grow and provide for themselves, will give us healthy children, with healthy futures as well as healthy communities.
2015's 18th Annual Georgia Organics Conference will be hosted in the Classic City and For My Daughters' Sake will be canning our way there for registration and admission fees, however, we would love for all of our daughters to have the opportunity to attend and experience this conference.
