Polly's Eyes

*** Update 10/01: We are closing her campaign today as she will have her first surgery tomorrow morning! Her amazing Doctor will do an encluation (eye removal) on her eye with glaucoma and then in about 3 - 4 weeks once she is healed from that will have cataract surgery on her other eye. We are confident that our girl will gain most of her vision back and soon be running and playing. Polly is a well loved rescue dog. She will be 10 this year and is living with diabetes,  becuase of the disease she has developed cataracts in both eyes. Recently she also developed glaucoma in her left eye and is currently being treated with several eye medications, several times a day as well as medication to manage the pain. Her next eye specialist visit will determin whether the eye will need to be removed, also if her right eye will be a canidate for cataract removal surgery. If her eye does not need to be removed, this means she will remain on very expensive medication. Our goal is to go forward with her cataract surgery so that she could regain vision in at least one eye and have the joy of vision again!

Polly had a rough start living at a puppy mill before she was rescued at the age of four and we have been so incredibly lucky to have adopted her. The last year has been full of vet visits, tests, medicines, and ultimately blindness and we have stretched ourselves both finacially and emotionally. It can be exhasting loving a dog that requires so much care but she is worth it. 

It isn't easy asking for help, especially finacially but we are doing it because Polly is too important to us to not to ask. Any amount you can donate will go directly to her medical bills & likely surgery. We will provide regular updates and upload photos to show her ever changing condition.
