Hope For Jelani

A dear friend Monique is seeking help for her child and a rare brain cancer!
Please look at her story as we are seeking the most help possible for her child.

On December 31st, 2014, my child, my only son, my life, Jelani, was diagnosed with the most horrible of aliments: CANCER. Jelani has Pontine Giloma, an inoperable tumor on his brain stem. As a mother, this is the most devastating, hurtful experience I can imagine. Jelani is only 7 years old, not old enough to understand big words like chemotherapy and radiation. All he knows is that Mommy is worried and scared. Jelani loves video games, and when he goes through his treatments, he thinks that they will give him superpowers that will make him stronger and allow him to help his favorite video game hero, Mario.

As a mother, I’ve spent countless hours looking for a cure, an answer, a reason why. With your help, I can bring some type of normalcy to Jelani’s life. A child should never have to suffer or know pain. A mother should never have to bury her child. A child should only dream.

Jelani is only 7, all he wants in life is to be old enough to be a dad, have his own family and create video games as a job. I'm asking for your help to bring these dreams to reality. Time is of the essence and a cure is what I'm looking forward to. My child will conquer this.

I am now taking Jelani for his daily radiation therapy session at LIJ hospital.

Even though it makes him extremly tire Jelani goes through it very bravely.
However, it has become very difficult to meet all Jelani's medical expenses and still maintain a normal household; being a single mother raising Jelani and his 15 year old sister.
