Sponsor Felicia's Reading Goal!
I am Mr. Roberts, 6th grade teacher at KIPP Sharpstown College Prep. I am helping my students set and achieve big goals. Here is Felicia to tell you more:
Hello! I am one of the hardest-working students in Houston. I want to go to Harvard and study the art of acting! I love reading fiction, mystery, and action books.
As a 6th grader at KIPP Sharpstown College Prep, I go to school for about three extra hours every day and do a lot of homework every night so that I can get one step closer to my dream of becoming a star on my own amazing t.v. show called I Love Gymnastics or the show that my director would like me to be the main character in and me going to college.
It's
not easy, which is why we call it "Climbing the Mountain to College."
To practice the persistence that I'm learning in school, I want to climb a real
mountain--but not just any mountain...the highest mountain in Texas: Guadalupe
Peak. It's a tough eight-hour climb to the top of the 8,750 foot summit and
back. It will take every ounce of strength and grit I have, and it will also
take your help!
You can
help me by sponsoring my reading goal. Here's how it works. You donate toward
my trip to Guadalupe Peak, and I will read for 40 hours in our March
Read-a-Thon and send you a thank you note that explains what I read.
Thank
you very much for your support. I wouldn't be able to do it without you!

Your
donation will not go directly to the student. It will be deposited
through WePay into the school's account, which will be used to pay for the trip
to Guadalupe Peak and the costs of camping, equipment, etc.
