Kicks To Cancer

Donation protected
For those who don't know me. I am a 3-time cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with Stage IV-A Hodgkins Lymphoma during my Sophomore year of college in February 2008. To seek treatment I was forced to withdraw from school and leave behind the college baseball team to go home.

I received 8 cycles of chemotherapy and 25 cycles of radiation treatment. In December 2008 it was discovered that I had testicular cancer. No treatment was required, and after surgery I was able to re-enroll in college and continue my college baseball career.

I graduated from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in May 2011, and recieved admission to the Appalachian School of Law for Fall 2011. Just 2 weeks before moving into my new apartment and beginning law school my Oncologist discovered, during a regularly scheduled PET scan, that I had developed a Teratoma. The Teratoma had developed as a result of the Testicular Cancer mutating. This mass required immediate, extensive surgery, and I was forced to withdraw from ASL.

I have since entered law school and am on course to graduate May 2015. I am a Sneakerhead. I love buying, selling, and collecting sneakers. This enjoyment even helped me in my writing career as a blogger for upcoming releases, rumors, and general information on all things sneakers. I want to use this opportunity to give back to those fighting the battle with cancer. I would like to give those sneaker fanatics who are going through this life changing event the feeling of receiving their most coveted sneaker.

The funds raised will be used to help me in my pursuit to develope a web series based on this idea. Michael Jordan wore a new pair of his signature sneakers every single game throughout his career. When asked why he did this he said that growing up, the best feeling in the world, to him, was opening up a new box of sneakers and putting them on. He said he wanted to recreate that feeling every single game.

Every sneakerhead knows the feeling of opening up the box of a brand new pair of kicks they've sought. I want to use this opportunity to give those battling cancer the feeling of opening up their favorite sneaker. I'm asking for help because, as a student, I unfortunately cannot afford to do this myself. I appreciate you visiting my page and reading my story. I would also greatly appreciate you sharing this with others. If I can use my story and insight to help someone else I believe I have successfully dominated cancer in every aspect.
