Emergency Surgery For Miss Kichi

Donation protected
Miss Kichi is the sweetest little shiba dog you could ever meet. Friendly, outgoing and energetic, she is the perfect companion for Ed Connelly, a longtime community volunteer who has been living with HIV/AIDS for 23 years. Ed has fostered many rescue dogs but made an emotional connection with Kichi. The two of them are inseparable. At recovery meetings, Kichi finds her way into the laps of strangers, bringing them peace and comfort. Ed loves his little girl. And you can see the love when Kichi is with Ed. She adores him.

Sadly, little Kichi has been diagnosed with a terminal illness called "chylothorax" where fluid accumulates around her lungs and heart. This horrible disease chokes the life out of her from the inside. The situation is grave. Without treatment the doctor says she will die.

There is hope for Kichi. Surgery is the only effective option for this condition. Ed took Kichi to UC Davis where they have performed tests to confirm that surgical treatment is necessary immediately.

Surgery for Kichi is going to cost upwards of $7500. Ed is disabled and cannot afford this huge expense on his own. Without the surgery, Kichi will not live much longer.

Please donate whatever you can to help. No donation is too small. And please get the word out by sharing this GoFundMe on your Facebook, Twitter and social channels.

Let's help keep Ed and Miss Kichi together for a long, long time!
