Kiara the Chihuahua's Medical Bills
On Sunday, July 06, 2014 my sweet, 10 year old, black & white chihuahua, Kiara was horribly injured by the application of Hartz Ultra Guard Plus Flea and TIck Drops for Dogs and Puppies weighing 4-15 lbs. Within 30 minutes of the application of the product to her spine, she broke out in horrible seeping and bleeding ulcers. She lost her hair in great big patches. We immediately called the vet and were advised to rince her. Within 5 hours the ulcers had spread and we rushed her to the emergency vet. She was washed again, shaved, her blood checked, and put on her first series of medicines.
On 7/11/2014 she was rushed back to the vet. Her sores are infected and she is on antibiotics now, and pain killers, and she has to wear a cone when she is not wrapped up on our lap.
The vets are saying that surgery is imminent. I am not a wealthy person. We are not sure how we are going to pay for another set of vet visits and a surgery.
We have reached out to Hartz, and recieved information on how to request "reimbursement" but this process can take 4-6 weeks *After* all the paperwork and bills are submitted, and it is not guaranteed.
