Kenny's Wish for a Canon EOS T5i

Hi. My Name is Kenny Sokan. I am a journalism student at Northeastern University. I've always had an interest in the arts, written and drawing. Since I was a kid, I would write short stories and as I grew older English and history were my favorite subjects because of the research and writing portions of it. Drawing, a talent that runs in the family, is one of the first things I did when I learned how to use a pencil. In high school, I developed an interest in photography. I remember glimpsing at beautiful moments here and there – smiles shared between friends, in the fall, leaves swaying gently to the ground, interesting shadows on the pavement, a trick of the sun – and wanting to be able to capture them and showcase them for the world to see. I decided to explore photography by joining my high school yearbook club. I was a member for 2 years and it was amazing capturing those brief moments in time of students with their friends and documenting those memories for them to look back on for years and years. Now I'm in college. I've never owned a camera other than the one on my cell phones over the years. Now that I have a smart phone, I have been using it to take pictures of landscapes and they have turned out beautifully, but don't compare to taking it on a real camera crafted to catch all the little details a camera phone can't. I want the opportunity to thoroughly explore and master this art form. I am from a working middle class family with a modest upbringing. My parent taught me to live within my means. I cannot afford to get this camera on my own, and my parents can't afford to buy it for me either with 3 kids in college all at private universities. I am working hard to do well in school, and working 2 jobs to save up money to pay off loans after college and to provide for myself to save my parents the hassle of providing for me while at school. Getting this camera would be a dream (and the perfect birthday present which is in about 2 months). Anything you can donate is appreciated!  Thanks :)
