Somewhere Else Tavern has always supported all music, especially local and original. It was the first all ages venue in NC. Earlier this year SWET celebrated their 39th anniversary with Fuel the Scene magazine. SWET is home to many local music bands and people alike.
If at all possible we have the hopes to raise enough money to move to a new location, or strike lucky and find someone willing to sponsor The Somwhere Else Tavern to help keep it alive.
The story;
Unfortunately the building, (not the name of SWET itself) was bought by someone who doesn't understand SWET nor what they stand for. The new owner wants to triple the rent.
Backs are against the wall. SWET is being forced out. Crystal and Burley are going to honor the dates booked until the end of December.
They have fought too long and too hard but unfortunately do not get to go out on their own terms. We pray for a miracle! They are available to have the club open every single night if you want to book a show.
