Trip to a Unique Youth Conference !

Hello or " Guten Tag "  !
My name is Lisa and I am a German exchange student who is currently spending 10 moths in beautiful Minnesota :)

As an exchange student I am very interested in learning as much as possible about the American culture as well as about all the diverse cultures the American culture encloses. All in all I love getting to know  people from all around the world ( which in my situation mostly concludes young people my age who also came to the US as exchange students)   and just listening to their funny anecdotes or also their views on current global issues . Therefore I was amazed by the ideals of the "Better Understanding for a Better World " Conference which are to facilitate mutual understanding and appreciation between students from diverse regional, economic, social, religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds in order to debilitate stereotypes and cultural bias. One main focus of the Conference will be on the interfaith dialogue with the objective of promoting tolerance, mutual respect, and an awareness of common values. The workshops will also include various aspects of leadership and ( hopefully :) ) forges ties of friendship between students from all around the world ( the participants will be a good mix of US high school students as well as of exchange students from different parts of the world )

This Conference will be taking place in Baltimore in the end of April. The amount listed for fundraising will include the conference fee as well as the estimated amount of money gofundme.com will keep for commission ( <8% + 30 cents per donation ). The flights to Baltimore and back I will pay from my birthday money ! 

It would be a dream coming true if we would really raise this money in the next few weeks; a dream that would impact my whole exchange experience and future life. There is only one thing I want to make clear : I most certainly don´t want to pressure anyone into donating and also will be very thankful if you only contribute as much as  $5 ( a small sum can have a big impact too:) )
