Fund Claddagh Irish Dancers

The Claddagh School of Irish Dance has a proud 30 year history of teaching a mix of solo and group dances in the traditional soft and hard shoes. Claddagh belongs to the Commission of Irish dancing, the C.L.R.G, in Dublin, Ireland. Claddagh students have the opportunity to participate in community events, as well as compete locally and throughout the world. This gives the dancers an amazing opportunity to travel and learn about other cultures. The pinnacle for Irish dancing students is to qualify to compete in the World Dancing Championships, which brings together the worldwide Irish dance community. The annual World Dancing Championships is always held the week before Easter. Last year approximately 5,000 competitors came together in London, England, where Claddagh sent 5 teams, consisting of either 8 or 16 dancers depending on the category. We won 2 first places and 3 second places in London, which is unprecedented for a North American school. This year Claddagh has qualified to send 8 teams, with dancers ranging in age from 9 to 21, to the 2015 World Dancing Championships in Montreal, Canada. It is a huge honor to be selected, and we are so excited to be going. However, a trip like this is very expensive and hard for many families to afford. We are having a fundraiser to raise money in support of the dancers going to the 2015 World Dancing Championships in Montreal, Canada so that no one will have to miss out on what they have worked so hard to earn. Our goal is $30,000. We know this is a big goal, but we train very hard, up to 7 days a week, in order to prepare for the World Dancing Championships.
