Inner city bowling team

My name is David Berkson, I am the physical education teacher at Claremont Academy in Chicago, Illinois.

For the last several years we have taught bowling to my students, many of which never pick up a bowling ball prior to the class.  At the end of the unit I usally take a class or two to a real bowling alley, where they apply what we did in the gym to the lanes.  It is awesome to see the spark when they get their first real strike, or even a spare.  Unfortunately this is the only opportunity for them to bowl.  
     This year I have an extrodinary group of boys and girls.  They want to learn and compete, unfortunately there is nothing available to them in the city.  My students do have a chance to participate in the state tournament, but only if they are properly equipped.
     Due to the economic status of my students, they can not afford bowling balls, shoes, or even time to go to the lanes to practice.  With your help and support my students can have their own ball, bag, and shoes.  I would also be able to get them to the lanes to practice.
