We are excited to announce Muhammad University of Islam's participation in the 2015 National High School Model United Nations conference.  The NHSMUN conference is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues using the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. This conference will host over 3,000 participants from over 150 high schools and 20 countries. It will take place in New York, NY on March 4-7, 2015.

Muhammad University of Islam has accepted to represent the country of Haiti at this year’s conference.  Haiti is a country with an intriguing history concerning black people. Students will examine the landing of Christopher Columbus in 1492, Haiti as a slave state, the courageous Haitian Revolution of 1791, Haiti as an independent republic to the more current history of the massive 2010 earthquake. These historical topics will assist the students in understanding the viewpoint of the Haitian people. Therefore establishing policies that will represent and benefit them. Although it is the goal of the NHSMUN for delegates to use historical and current policies of their assigned country to solve global issues, it is our intention to utilize this simulation to train our students to apply the universal teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad to accomplish the above stated goal.

We would be so honored if you would support us in our effort to make it to New York!!!
