My name is Kaitlin Creedon and I have been Irish Dancing since I was 7 years old. I dance for the Flanagan O' Hare School of Irish Dance in Naples, FL, and I am taught by two of the best Irish Dance teachers, Michael O' Hare and Geraldine French.  Ever since I began competing in Irish Dance at age 10, it has become my absolute passion and is a huge part of my life. I dance six days a week, 2-3 hours a day, taking classes 3 days and practicing at home 3 days. I also volunteer as a teaching assistant, helping out with the youngest dancers in the beginner classes. It makes me so happy to help with the beginners, because I get to share my love of Irish Dance and Irish Culture with young dancers just starting out. Even though I am a Sophomore in high school at Marco Island Academy, dance takes priority over everything, except for school, where I work just as hard as I do at dance to keep up my straight-A average in the Cambridge Advanced Program.  I am so blessed to attend such a wonderful charter high school so close to home!

Competition is a huge part of Irish Dance, and I compete locally, nationally and abroad, having worked my way up to the level of Open Champion. This year at the 2016 Southern Region Oireachtas, which is our regional championships, I reached my goal to qualify for the World Irish Dance Championships held in Dublin, Ireland in April 2017. It’s been my dream to qualify for “The Worlds” and I was over the moon when I realized I had reached my goal – all of my hard work and dedication paid off! "The Worlds" is a prestigious event, the highest level there is in Irish Dance, attracting the most talented dancers from all over the world each year competing for the title of 'World Champion'. Only a very small percentage of Irish Dancers ever make it to the Worlds, so even to qualify is a huge accomplishment. I've been so blessed by my supportive group of family, dance teachers, dancers and friends, but the travel expenses are very costly and I will need some help to get there. Anything you are able to contribute will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you so much for helping me make my Irish Dance dreams come true!
