Supporting Gretchen's Recovery

Dear family and friends, Gretchen D'Souza was in a devastating car accident on December 26, 2014. A 23-year-old drunk driver ran a stop sign and hit the passenger side where Gretchen was sitting. She broke 2 cervical vertebrae and, after undergoing a 4 hour spinal surgery followed by several days in the ICU, she is now at a Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) rehabilitation center.

As a result of the accident, Gretchen is paralyzed in her lower limbs. Despite this, she makes progress every day, and her strength and perseverance continues to amazes us. Although it has been painful for us to see Gretchen like this, we know that she will not give up this fight.

Gretchen is a graduate of the Clovis Unified School District. She attended Cedarwood elementary school, Clark Intermediate, and graduated from Clovis High in 2009. She was the captain of her high school varsity tennis team, an active member of CHS leadership as well as the interact club, National Honors Society, and the California Scholarship federation. She has always been heavily involved in community service. Gretchen was also enrolled in medical school aspiring to become a doctor. 

Unfortunately, her insurance company can only cover so much, as this could be a long road to recovery. That is why we have set up this page: to raise money for Gretchen’s future. These donations would help with extra physical therapy, medical equipment, home renovations, and many other things. Our family would greatly appreciate your donation, no matter the size.
