UPDATE-Sunday, November 13, 2016:
We really need strong prayers right now. Elizabeth's LVAD has failed and she is now back on ECMO at Children's. They are getting ready to do a procedure that will put a hole in her heart so that the blood flow will be more evenly dispersed. After the procedure they will transport her to Baptist.
2nd UPDATE- Sunday, November 13, 2016
Dr. Ransom came and told us that Liz's LVAD actually never stopped working. It appears that the ER doctors did not realize that Liz doesn't have a pulse and so when she stopped breathing they thought her heart and LVAD had stopped.
Now they are going to try to fill the hole in her heart so they can get her off of ECMO. And then they can find out why she was having breathing issues.
3rd UPDATE-Sunday, November 13, 2016
Jimmy and I went back and saw Liz. They are warming her up and beginning to wean her from the ECMO. She is able to open her eyes seemingly in response to voices. Dr. Hutchins informed Jimmy that they may not have to plug the hole in her heart afterall but they will be doing a procedure on her tomorrow morning at 7:30.
UPDATE - Monday, 11-14-16 around 7:30 a.m.

Elizabeth is in surgery right now. They are confident that she can be taken off of ECMO with her LVAD fully functioning. Please keep those prayers coming!!

Elizabeth Mitchell is a christian wife, mother of three young girls, nurse, daughter, sister, and friend.
On Friday, January 9, 2015, Elizabeth had gone to Arkansas Children's Hospital to be with a baby and family that she had been taking care of in the NICU. The baby was was passing and she had gone on her day off to be loving to the family.
While at ACH, Elizabeth passed out and was found unresponsive. She was put on an ECMO machine to keep her heart and lungs operating. The Doctors do not know why she passed out.
Elizabeth is currently in PICU at Arkansas Children's Hospital and continues to need the support of the ECMO machine to keep her heart going. Elizabeth needs your prayers for healing. Pray for strength for her husband, Jimmy and their three young daughters. Pray for the medical team as they are trying to figure out what happen and as they continue to care for Elizabeth. Pray for Elizabeth's mother, sister, and brother as they are helping Jimmy and the girls get through this time.
The Mitchell family is going to need help with expenses to help them get through this time. Jimmy will be driving 30 minutes back and forth to be with his little girls who are asking for their daddy and momma. There are obvious expenses including food and gas that will occur with Jimmy and Elizabeth both being off work.
